References & Reading Materials
This page lists the key references for the course, with PDFs where available.
📖 Primary References
Dolgachev : Lectures on Invariant Theory
The main text for GIT foundations. We’ll follow Dolgachev’s development of invariant theory through algebraic geometry, starting from affine varieties and quotients.
Waldron : An Introduction to Finite Tight Frames
Comprehensive introduction to frame theory and equiangular tight frames. Essential for the ETF side of the course.
📚 Classical Reference
Mumford, Fogarty, Kirwan : Geometric Invariant Theory (3rd ed., Springer)
The classical text on GIT. Use as a reference for deeper dives or alternative perspectives on quotient constructions.
